The creed of the Muslim Muhammad al-Ghazali
The creed of the Muslim Muhammad al-Ghazali
The Muslim never abandoned his faith, he remained a religious believer, but his faith was stripped of its effectiveness, because it lost its social radiation and became individual, and faith became the faith of an individual dissolved from his connections with his social milieu. Accordingly, the problem is not that we teach the Muslim a “creed” that he possesses, but rather the important thing is that we return to this creed its effectiveness, its positive power, and its social impact.
In one word.
Our problem is not to "prove" to the Muslim the existence of God as much as it is to make him feel his presence and fill himself with it as a source of energy.
And creed... is nature not knowledge, feeling not philosophy, character not opinion, and creed is the strongest bond that connects a Muslim and his purpose and between him and those who believe with him.
