[Qarib al-Tahdheeb is one of the books of al-Jarh wa’l-Ta’deel, written by Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (773-852), as the author wrote his book Tahdheeb al-Tahdheeb, which is an abbreviation of Tahdheeb al-Kamal by al-Hafiz al-Mazi, then Ibn Hajar summarized his tahdheeb with this book Taqreeb al-Tahdheeb, and the importance of the book is that it An integrated guide with the names of the narrators of the six books of the noble hadiths of the Prophet, in which Ibn Hajar limited himself to the name of the translator for him in brief, the degree of his documentation, his job, and the signs that Al-Mazi mentioned to him.
In the introduction, Ibn Hajar explained the reasons that prompted him to compose his book Taqreeb at-Tahdheeb, which is: Abbreviation of the book Tahdheeb at-Tahdheeb, which is large in size. And he judges a person with a ruling that includes the most correct of what was said about him, in particular, a phrase, so that the translation of each person does not exceed one line, which often combines his lineage, surname, nickname, era, and description in terms of jarh and ta’deel. Thus, the talk was limited to their conditions in twelve ranks, and their classes were confined to twelve classes
