General definition of Islam
General definition of Islam
Authored by Sheikh: Ali Al-Tantawi
This book consists of twelve chapters, an introduction and a conclusion. As for the introduction - which is titled "Between the Hands of the Book" - it contains a beautiful illustration of the meanings of instinct and obligation, the two paths to heaven and hell, the truth of this world and the truth of the Hereafter. As for the twelve chapters, all the chapters of faith are presented in a clear and brief presentation that is understood by the old and the young, and enjoyed by scholars, intellectuals, and the general public as a whole. These chapters, including three, serve as an introduction to the subject and a prelude to the rest of the book, namely: the religion of Islam, definitions, and rules of beliefs. The remaining nine explain the faith and clarify it with the simplification and facilitation I mentioned above, and they are: belief in God, monotheism of divinity, manifestations of faith, belief in the Last Day, belief in destiny, belief in the unseen, belief in angels and jinn, belief in messengers, and belief in books.
