The book of the Prophet’s biography of Ibn Hisham is one of the ancient books in the history of our master Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and it is the most famous of the biography books. We have had a little of it and lost most of it, and this is another aspect of its importance, so he omitted from it what he found off topic or weak, and added to it where he found it appropriate. And he proved in it what he found appropriate from the poems, and the investigators explained some obscure places, translated for the scholars, and put headings for the paragraphs, as they provided the book with scientific indexes.
