In the presence of absence
Line by line, I scatter you in front of me with efficiency that I only achieved in the readings / And as you commanded me, I stand now in your name to thank your mourners to
This is the last journey, and I invite them to shorten their farewells and go to a celebratory dinner befitting your memory/
Permit me to see you when you left me and I left you, unharmed like filtered prose on a stone that turns green or turns yellow in your absence. Permit me to make your pain and your name as those of the olive-pickers forget the grains hidden by the pebbles.
And let us go together, you and I, on two paths: You, to a second life, promised to you by language, in a reader who may survive a meteorite falling to earth.
And I, to a date that I postponed more than once, with death I promised him a glass of red wine in one of the poems. The poet has no shame if he lies. And he only lies in love.
